Hip-hop, mid-2000s emo, classic rock and classic covers will all be a part of Albany’s Alive at Five concert series this summer.
The city announced the lineup Monday for the festival that starts in June, and will now take place at Tricentennial Park for the first time. There will be six free concerts between June 5-July 17.
The series opens with Queensryche taking the stage on Classic Rock Night (June 5). Funk & Pride Night, with featured artist Neal Francis, is June 12; Grammy-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco headlines Hip-Hop & Juneteenth on June 19; Warped Tour veterans Boys Like Girls takes the stage for Emo Night on June 26; Mellow Mood sets the tone on Reggae Night (July 10); and cover band Middle Aged Dad Jam Band, featuring actor/director David Wain (“Wet Hot American Summer,” “Role Models”) and actor Ken Marino (“Party Down,” “The State,” “Dawson’s Creek”), closes the series on July 17.
There will be $8 parking available for each show at the Quackenbush Garage on Orange Street, which will start at 4 p.m. each evening.
