We’re pleased to continue offering walk-in and same-day care for low-severity medical issues, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., just as we did during the pilot program. We are working diligently to extend these hours as quickly as possible.

Please refer to the following frequently asked questions for information about our same-day services.

Q: Why is the pilot program ending?
The Urgent Care Pilot Program program in Half Moon Bay, funded by the County of San Mateo will conclude, as planned, on May 31, 2025. The insights we gained are crucial in helping us shape the future of same-day care in our community. This information is guiding our next steps.

Q: What is not changing when the pilot program ends on May 31, 2025?
We will continue to offer walk-in, and same-day virtual appointments for patients assigned to a Dignity Health Medical Group — Sequoia primary care provider. These services will be in addition to our existing primary care services.

While the pilot program is ending, Dignity Health Medical Group – Sequoia remains firmly committed to providing quality, accessible health care to coastal residents.

    Q: Will the hours change?
Yes. Starting June 1, following the conclusion of the pilot program, we will offer:
    Walk-in and virtual appointments: Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We are working diligently to permanently expand our same-day and walk-in appointment offerings and hours as a result of what we learned during the pilot program.

A key part of this is recruiting an additional primary care provider. We anticipate being able to offer extended hours later this year. We will keep you updated on our progress.

Q: Who will the clinic serve?
Our clinic will continue to see established patients of Dignity Health Medical Group – Sequoia, including adults and children over 14 years of age. This includes patients with PPO plans, Medicare, and Health Plan of San Mateo.

Q: What health plans will be accepted?
Beginning June 1, 2025, we will continue to accept most health plans. However, patients with out-of-network coverage, will need to pay out-of-pocket for services.

Patients without insurance can contact the Health Coverage Unit at San Mateo County Health who can help determine if they are eligible for available health coverage programs:

    • (650) 616-2002
    • Monday-Wednesday, and Friday: 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m., and Thursday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We will continue to accept Health Plan of San Mateo.

    • Our team is available to assist Health Plan of San Mateo members who need to be assigned to a Dignity Health Medical Group – Sequoia primary care provider. This will allow us to continue providing care without disruption.
    • Please call (650) 726-1200 for assistance.

The clinic will continue to treat a wide range of non-life threatening medical issues, including:

    • Ear and eye infections
    • Urinary tract infections
    • Sprains and muscle strains
