“Hi, My name is Gavin O’Connor, and I’m the director of “Accountant 2.” So this scene takes place deep into the second act of the movie. And we are at a bunkhouse. It’s a cowboy joint. And Chris, who’s played by Ben and Brax, who’s played by Jon Bernthal, are completely out of their element in this place. And Chris decides to get up and try to line dance after he’s mathematically figured out how to do the steps. Brax is thoroughly embarrassed at the beginning of this because he knows that his brother, per their history, is going to fail on an epic scale, but it’s actually quite different, what happens. So this scene was designed to accomplish several things as we move deeper into the second act of the movie. Bill Dubuque, our writer, and I wanted to abandon the plot and just make a hard left turn and go spend time with the brothers in a social environment. So we can deepen their relationship, while also allowing Christian the opportunity to connect with a woman in a way he’s never done before. If you notice Ben’s shoes. When Ben initially showed me the sneakers he wanted Chris to wear. I had a one two punch of reactions. The first was cringing at the sight of them, but I also understood that Chris would wear them because he’s all about comfort and practicality. But then my second reaction was a smile, because my brain went straight to the opening tracking shot, which you saw earlier. That’s a shot of the stampede of these stomping cowboy boots and then landing on Chris’s feet. And the oddness of Chris in that environment and his lack of awareness of it. And we have Brax’s reaction. “Hey, did you see that. That’s my brother! That’s my big brother up there. He’s so thought it was going to go the other way. And he’s so now excited and overjoyed for his brother. And getting to watch his big brother do something that brings happiness to him. “Sorry I didn’t mean to run into you.” This gentleman here, we met earlier. He has no idea. He has no idea who he’s dealing with here with Christian Wolff, who looks like an accountant, but unaware of his fighting skills. And his brother who’s there with him. So Chris takes advantage of the moment and recognizing that the only way he could probably deliver fun on an equal par to what he just had and experienced, he’s going to invite a fight. “O.K, hit me, Jerry. “Well, your brother can get it, too.” “Oh, good. Your face is like an anus. Swing at me, Jerry. Oh, no.” “Khaki pants here wants to scrap.” “Oh, goodness.” So he manipulates that so Brax can have and experience as much joy as Christian did. “Come on now.” “Don’t, Jerry!” And then we see the results. And you may notice at the end, Brax is wearing the cowboy hat of the guy that gets thrown out the window.
