    After the summer arrived, we experience a longer, warmer days filled with lack of energy and laziness. Due to coming in contact of summer for more time, few people may feel summer tiredness, summer fatigue or summer lethargy a kind of tiredness followed by symptoms of illness including exhaustion, lack of energy, upset stomach and stomach pain etc. which are the symptoms of summer fatigue.

    Due to longer time contact of your body with summer heat which was above 40 degrees Celsius and due to this outside excessive heat our internal body become more heated and starts draining our body’s essential minerals and vitamins through excessive sweating and brings a summer fatigue including tiredness.

    Not drinking enough water and liquid and lack of healthy lifestyle can also bring the summer fatigue.

    Symptoms of Summer Fatigue:

    • Dizziness
    • Tiredness
    • Lack of Appetite
    • Stomach Pain
    • Nausea / Vomiting
    • Headache
    • Langour
    • Improved Thirst

    Above are few symptoms of normal Summer Fatigue, the symptoms may be increase or decrease according to your health condition.

    Causes of Summer Fatigue / Causes of Summer Lethargy:

    • Direct exposure of Summer Heat to your body including head
    • Not able keeping body cool due to hot environment working such as cooking during summer
    • Not hydrating your body well, not drinking enough water i.e. 8-9 glasses per day minimum
    • Drinking only refrigerated or icy water during summer may also bring heat related fatigue
    • Unhealthy lifestyle including unhealthy diet
    • Not eating seasonal fruits and vegetables to maintain body liquid balance
    • Excessive sweating
    • Drinking contaminated water or stale food
    • Lack of Sleep / lack of body rest
    • Loss of Appetite

    Above are few of the causes of summer fatigue, this above proves that more summer heat contact to our body may disturb our routine bodily processes reduce body nutrition and brings on summer tiredness issue. Once our body internal temperature rises, our body starts losing the nutrition and it became harder to stop the summer fatigue.

    There is need of extra efforts and care during summer to safeguard yourself from summer heat attack.

    Feeling tired in summer is common is most of the regions including Africa and Asian Countries where heat is harsher. Summer fatigue is a vicious cycle in which our body loses the energy step by step and if no action will be taken then it can be fatal.

    Tips to handle the summer lethargy or summer fatigue effectively.

    Keeping our body liquid level in balance and provide more nutrition and rest to our body helps to reduce the chances of summer fatigue.

    Our body is like a car, during summer season with outside heat exposure our body sweats heavily and starts losing our body water, nutrition and essential minerals. Following are the best ways to keep your summer tiredness away

    • Drink enough water
    • Drink fresh fruits juices, cane juice and lemonade to keep your body nourished.
    • Eat Fresh Food, fresh vegetables and Fresh fruits for better vitamin and mineral support.
    • Avoid eating stale food, Stale juices and ice cold water.
    • Avoid going in direct sun heated open environment from Air conditioning or chilled surroundings without wearing cap or protecting yourself from sun heat with umbrella.
    • Eat nutritious food enrich with vitamin B, Vitamin C, Protein, Carbohydrates etc.
    • Carry a water bottle and electrolyte water tpo well hydrate yourself, if you going in summer heated environment for a longer time outside or even inside during any hot work environment such as steel forging or heated factory work environment.
    • Park your car in a shade to protect it from overheating and avoid getting heat shock while entering in your car.
    • Reduce intake of alcohol, smoking, caffeinated drinks
    • Reduce intake of chicken, Meat products etc. as those foods are already warmer in nature and possible increase your internal body temperature.
    • Take quality of sleep and reduce the exhausting work to prevent yourself from summer tiredness

    Keeping yourself more hydrated and nourishing, and avoiding direct body sun heat exposure, helps to beat the summer fatigue and keep you more active and safe in summer.
