Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S25 FE smartphone and the Galaxy Tab S11 series tablets for the New Zealand market, bringing Galaxy AI functionality and new productivity features to its Fan Edition and tablet ranges.
The Galaxy S25 FE incorporates many of the flagship features of the Galaxy S25, now at what the company calls a more accessible price point, while the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and S11 tablets offer enhanced multitasking and creativity tools in a slimmer, portable form factor. Both products will be available in New Zealand from 26 September 2025.
Galaxy S25 FE
The Galaxy S25 FE offers a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and features a 12MP front camera, which Samsung states is upgraded over previous models, alongside AI-powered ProVisual Engine capabilities for improved photography and editing. Users will also find a 50MP wide camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and 8MP telephoto camera on the rear, supported by optical image stabilisation. The device is powered by the Exynos 2400 processor and comes with either 128GB or 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.

Samsung has equipped its new mid-range handset with a 4,900mAh battery, said to deliver reliable endurance for entertainment and productivity applications, and supports 45W wired charging. The device introduces a larger vapor chamber compared to previous models, which Samsung claims offers improved thermal management for AI and gaming.
The phone includes seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch, a move Samsung says is intended to ensure device longevity. Device security is enhanced with Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which provides encrypted, app-specific storage and works with the device’s Personal Data Engine for on-device privacy. The handset has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and features an Armour Aluminum frame for greater durability.
On the software side, the Galaxy S25 FE integrates the One UI 8 interface and a suite of Galaxy AI tools. These include multimodal AI agents, Gemini Live for on-device visual conversations, Now Bar for dynamic lock screen notifications, Now Brief for daily summaries, and Circle to Search with Google. Editing features like Generative Edit, Instant Slow-mo, Audio Eraser, Photo Assist, and Portrait Studio are designed to make photo and video editing more accessible without requiring third-party tools.

The Galaxy S25 FE will be available in Icyblue, Jetblack, Navy, and White. The recommended retail prices are NZD $1,199 for the 128GB model and NZD $1,299 for the 256GB model.
Galaxy Tab S11 series
The Galaxy Tab S11 series includes the Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S11 models, with Samsung claiming its thinnest designs yet. The Tab S11 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Tab S11 has an 11-inch display. Both screens provide up to 1600 nits peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rates. The tabs use MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipsets, with storage configurations ranging from 128GB to 1TB, depending on the variant, and up to 16GB RAM on the Ultra model.
The new tablets debut an enhanced Samsung DeX environment, supporting Extended Mode for two-screen setups and up to four customised workspaces for work, creativity, or multitasking. The included S Pen, which is water and dust resistant with an IP68 rating, features a redesigned tip and ergonomic design for more natural handwriting and drawing. Drawing Assist and Writing Assist are among the AI-enabled features designed to support productivity and content creation.

With One UI 8, the Tab S11 series offers Gemini Live for AI-powered on-screen interactions, real-time translation, and voice or visual input responses. Users can run full-size professional apps, such as Goodnotes, Clip Studio Paint, LumaFusion, and Notion, with Samsung offering promotional access periods for select tools. Galaxy AI overlays are also present, providing summarisation and contextual assistance during multitasking without exiting an app.
The Tab S11 Ultra is equipped with an 11,600mAh battery, and the Tab S11 with 8,400mAh, both supporting 45W fast charging. The tablets are constructed with Armour Aluminum and, depending on the model, weigh from 469g to 695g. Available colours at launch will be Grey and Silver, but model and colour availability will vary by configuration.
New Zealand recommended retail prices for the Galaxy Tab S11 series begin at NZD $1,449 for the 128GB Wi-Fi Tab S11, with the Tab S11 Ultra starting from NZD $2,199 for the 12GB RAM, 256GB Wi-Fi variant and up to NZD $2,899 for the Ultra with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. All configurations offer microSD expansion up to 2TB.
The Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 series both promise seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates according to Samsung. One UI 8 will become available for additional devices in the future, including prior Galaxy S and Tab models.
