Samsung has unveiled its 2025 range of AI-powered home appliances, signalling a shift toward intelligent and personalised living for New Zealand households.
The announcement forms part of the company’s broader strategy to deepen smart home integration and increase daily convenience for users through enhanced AI and connectivity features.
Tura Gim, Group Head of TV & Digital Appliances, Samsung New Zealand, said the launch aligns with the company’s vision to simplify domestic life for Kiwis.
“With the introduction of Vision AI and AI Home, more Samsung devices across the home are now equipped to deliver secure, highly personalised experiences. These innovations are designed to evolve over time, continuously learning and adapting to users’ routines – offering smarter, more intuitive ways for Kiwis to enhance their everyday lives,” he said.
At the centre of the line-up is AI Home, Samsung’s on-device Edge AI platform that enables appliances to analyse and adapt to users’ habits.
The technology is designed to provide efficient and meaningful enhancements in everyday tasks, such as managing laundry cycles or monitoring kitchen inventory.
The 2025 line-up also features the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, now the most powerful cordless stick vacuum in the world.
With a suction power of 400W and an LED digital display, the device enables users to quickly check suction levels, battery life and any maintenance issues. Integrated with SmartThings, the vacuum can be managed via a smartphone, offering customised cleaning suggestions and alerts through a smart self-diagnosis feature.
Alongside performance enhancements, Samsung has made security a key priority.
For the first time, its Bespoke range of refrigerators, washers, dryers, and vacuums will feature Knox security, the same multi-layer protection used across Samsung’s mobile devices. This provides New Zealand consumers with added peace of mind as smart appliance connectivity becomes more common in the household.
The SmartThings platform itself has been upgraded, enabling users to remotely monitor and control connected appliances, track energy usage, and manage household routines via their smartphone.
The interface allows for automation and synchronisation across multiple devices in a home environment.
Another innovation across the new appliances is Smart Forward, a feature that ensures eligible devices receive ongoing software upgrades with new functionalities over time. According to Samsung, this will allow appliances to continue evolving with the needs of the household, reducing the necessity for premature replacement and promoting long-term value.
“Samsung’s 2025 range of home appliances and AV solutions are designed to deliver exceptional performance both individually and as part of a seamlessly connected ecosystem,” said Mr Gim. “Each product stands strong on its own, but when combined, they unlock a smarter, more intuitive home experience.”
In the kitchen category, highlights include the 615L Family Hub Side By Side Refrigerator and other smart fridge models featuring dispensers and design options in silver or black. These appliances are equipped to integrate with SmartThings, providing inventory tracking, remote management, and real-time energy monitoring.
In laundry, the line-up features multiple 9kg Smart Front Load Washers, all equipped with steam wash cycles, AI-powered care options, and SmartThings compatibility.
These washers learn from users’ habits to optimise cleaning performance while conserving water and energy.
In terms of availability, the new appliances are now stocked at leading retailers throughout New Zealand. The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra Stick Vacuum, for example, is available with a recommended retail price of NZD $1,699, while the 9kg Smart Front Load Washer with Steam Wash Cycle starts at NZD $999. Pricing for all appliances remains at the discretion of the individual retailers.
Samsung’s announcement follows a decade of investment into redefining what connected living can mean for consumers. The company says the new range is not only about standalone features but also how appliances can operate as part of a broader, adaptive smart home.
