Flavored vapes, cannabis and tobacco will be discussed in a public health forum on April 30 in Oxnard.
The town hall event called “Tobacco Old & New: A Community Health Conversation” will focus on tobacco and cannabis policies designed to safeguard public health. It is open to the public and is aimed at community members, educators, health professionals, law enforcement personnel and first responders.
Topics include reducing exposure to secondhand smoke, challenges in enforcing flavored tobacco bans and efforts to ensure compliance with cannabis cultivation regulations.
The forum is sponsored by Ventura County Public Health, Ventura County Action on Smoking and Health, Ventura County Behavioral Health, Ventura County Office of Education, Future Leaders of America and the prevention program BRITE.
The free program runs from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. with a resources and networking session starting at 4:30 p.m. The event will be at the Ventura County Behavioral Health Department, 1911 Williams Drive, Oxnard. People can register at https://bit.ly/tobaccoVC2025.
