Itel Power 70: Unstoppable Power, Long Battery Life

Let’s talk about something we all dread – you’re enjoying a day with electricity, binge-watching TikTok videos or a series on Netflix. Just as you’re about to plug in your dying phone, the power supply (often referred to as NEPA in Nigeria) goes out, Itel’s new Power 70 might just be the solution you didn’t know you needed.

The Battery Beast That Won’t Break Your Bank

Here’s the thing about the Power 70 that caught my attention right away: it comes with not one, but TWO batteries. You get a hefty 6,000mAh battery built right into the phone, plus a 4,000mAh portable charging case that comes in the box. That’s a massive 10,000 mAh combined – all for under $85 (approximately 130,000 Naira).

What does that mean in real life? You’re looking at roughly 25 hours of TikTok scrolling, over 160 hours of music, or two full days of gaming. For most people, that’s easily 2-3 days of normal use without hunting for a charger. And when you do need to recharge? 18W fast charging gets you back to 50% faster than you can say, “Where’s my charger?”.

Built For Real Life, Not Just Spec Sheets

Let’s be real—phones are basically part of our bodies now. So why settle for one that can’t handle life’s messes? The Power 70 seems to get that, with IP54 protection against dust and water splashes. It’s not submarine-level waterproof, but it’ll handle rain, sweaty hands, and the occasional kitchen splash without a problem.

The phone also comes with what Itel calls an “airbag case” for drop protection, and they’re confident enough to offer a 4-year guarantee on battery health. That’s pretty impressive when most phones start showing serious battery degradation after just a year or two.

    Decent Performance Where It Counts

Running on MediaTek’s Helio G50 Ultimate chip, the Power 70 isn’t going to win any benchmark contests against flagship phones, but that’s not really the point. It handles everyday tasks smoothly, especially with the RAM expansion tech that can boost you up to 16GB of memory when needed.

The 6.67-inch screen gives you plenty of viewing space with decent brightness (700 nits at peak) for outdoor use. Yes, it’s HD+ rather than Full HD, but at this price point, the resolution is a fair trade-off for the battery life you’re getting.

Storage shouldn’t be an issue either – with up to 256GB of internal storage plus a microSD slot, you’ve got room for thousands of photos and plenty of apps.

    Specs at a Glance

    • OS: Android 14
    • Display: 6.67″ HD+ IPS LCD, 120Hz refresh rate
    • Camera: 13MP rear, 8MP front
    • Durability: IP54 rating, drop-resistant design
    • Colors: Black, Marine, Silver, Golden
    • Price: Starts under $85 (approximately 130,000 Naira) (including charging case)

Why the Itel Power 70 Stands Out

“Emerging markets demand devices that balance cost, durability, and functionality,” says an itel spokesperson. “The Power 70 isn’t just a smartphone—it’s a lifeline for users who need reliable tech to stay connected, entertained, and productive.” Priced aggressively below competitors, itel continues its mission to provide budget-friendly consumer electronic products and lifestyle products to everyone, democratizing technology and connectivity and ensuring consumers can “Enjoy a Better Life”. Having already claimed the title of No.1 Global Smartphone Brand under $75 in 2024.
