A new iOS 26 feature now makes iPhone tell you how long it will take to charge. Here are the details on it.
Apple announced iOS 26 during the WWDC opening keynote yesterday, and developers have had access to the first beta version for a day now. That means we’re learning what the update has to offer, and one new feature is support for a new estimate for how long your iPhone will take to charge.
A new display within the existing Battery section of the Settings app shows you when the iPhone is charging as well as when it will reach the 100% mark. The new feature means that you’ll be able to estimate when you can take the iPhone off the charger – either wired or wireless – for the first time.
Apple has also added this information to a new widget for new Lock Screen, as can be seen in the screenshot above.
Apple is expected to release its first public beta next month, but the final release to the public isn’t expected until the fall. If Apple sticks to its usual release pattern, we expect to see iOS 26 arrive around the first two weeks of September.
Apple announced iOS 26 alongside new updates for the iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. The updates all make use of a new Liquid Glass design language that brings a glass-like appearance to Apple’s entire lineup.
