Looking for iPadOS 26 compatibility for compatible iPad models? Apple’s iPadOS 26 brings new features and fixes to the iPad lineup, but not all devices are supported. Check this list here to make sure that your iPad can work just fine with the latest software.
Apple generally does a good job of making sure that its software works on older devices, and the iPadOS 26 software update is no different.
That being said, there are some tablets that have been discarded this time around, which is a shame. Thankfully, most modern devices are good to go, which means that most people won’t be left in the cold.
With that said, this is the list of all compatible iPads that will work with the latest iPadOS 26 software update. If you’re device isn’t listed, maybe it’s time to treat yourself to a new one.
iPadOS 26 Compatible iPads Models List
- iPad Pro (2018 or later)
- iPad Air (3rd gen or later)
- iPad mini (5th gen or later)
- iPad (8th gen and later)
That means that the only iPad that runs iPadOS 18 but will not get iPadOS 26 is the 7th-gen iPad, which was released way back in 2019. That tablet has been deemed unable to run the latest update and its new features sufficiently.
Alongside iPadOS 26, Apple’s new software updates for 2025 also include those for the iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and the Apple Vision Pro.
