As Apple gets ready to announce iOS 26 at the upcoming WWDC event next week, a new report claims to have information on what we can expect to come to iPhones around the world.
According to a 9to5Mac report, Apple has been working on new updates to apps like Messages, Music, Notes, and the CarPlay experience for cars that don’t have support for the new CarPlay Ultra.
In terms of the Messages app, we’re told that new automatic translation features are on the way, as is support for adding polls to messages, perfect for deciding what the household wants for dinner.
Moving to the Music app, the report claims that iPhones will support full-screen animated artwork on the Lock Screen for the first time. The Notes app will also reportedly add Markdown support, allowing users to export notes in the format.
Finally, the report says that new UI upgrades are coming to CarPlay. However, the report notes that the “extent to which the redesign comes to CarPlay remains to be seen, but Apple is working on multiple changes to match the new iOS 26 design language.”
Apple is expected to announce iOS 26 at WWDC on Monday, June 9, before making a developer beta available for download. The update isn’t expected to be released to the public until this fall.
