When Apple announced the iOS 26 software update during the WWDC opening keynote on June 9, the company immediately released the first developer beta. Here’s when we expect that the second beta will be released, too.
Apple is also expected to release the first public beta of iOS 26 in July, but we expect there to have been a couple more developer betas before that happens.
In terms of when iOS 26 beta 2 is likely to be released, we expect that it will happen two weeks after beta 1 was made available to developers. With that in mind, we suspect that Apple will release iOS 26 beta 2 to arrive during the week commencing Monday, June 23. However, depending on the performance of beta 1, it’s possible that beta 2 might wait an additional week, which would take us to the week commencing June 30.
Apple normally releases new betas on or around a Monday, but it could happen at any point that week, depending on the company’s release schedule.
The biggest changes that are coming to the iPhone with iOS 26 include the new Liquid Glass interface language and upgrades to apps like Phone, Messages, and more.
Apple has confirmed that it will release the iOS 26 update to the public this fall. We expect that to be around the first two weeks of September, based on previous years.
