iOS 26 battery life on iPhone can be extended thanks to a new feature. Here are the details on this.
Apple’s upcoming iOS 26 software update will include a new feature that can adjust system settings and features in an attempt to extend battery life.
The iOS 26 software update was announced at WWDC on June 9 and is now available in developer beta, meaning people have been using it for a couple of days now.
That means we’re learning more about the new features that iOS 26 has to offer, including Adaptive Power.
The new feature is available within the Settings app and can make adjustments when a lot of power is being used.
“When your battery usage is higher than usual, iPhone can make small performance adjustments to extend your battery life, including slightly lowering the display brightness or allowing some activities to take a little longer,” Apple’s blurb reads. “Low Power Mode may turn on at 20%.”
The Adaptive Power feature is disabled by default, but can be enabled if you want to make sure to eke as much power out of your iPhone’s battery as possible. This sounds similar to the existing Low Power Mode, but with more intelligence associated with how battery is saved.
Apple’s iOS 26 software is now in developer beta, with a public beta expected to be released to the public this September. The update is expected to be released alongside the new iPhones and Apple Watches.
