    Hello friends,

We all know that as we age, our joints start showing signs of aging like stiffness, pain and aches, and change in shape of joint and its alignment.

We then approach our doctor who may prescribe us some conventional [allopathic] medicines to relieve pain and stiffness.

But are these medicines safe for long term use? I would say- ‘not exactly’- some may have side effects that can damage some vital organs in our body like the kidney, for instance.

So, how do we tackle this problem? In the western world, people and doctors have started using alternatives and they are mostly herbal remedies.

Herbal Remedies to the rescue of Joint Health

Welcome to this new article based on boosting your wellness and, more specifically, your joint health using a selection of herbal remedies that includes products like Boswellia Serrata, Rosehip Extract and Devil’s Claw.

Herbal remedies are increasingly recognized for their potential benefits in improving health and well-being.

Many people are turning to herbal oriented remedies for their natural healing properties, especially for joint health.

These medicines can be effective when used correctly, and here we will explore their benefits.

These alternative remedies have been utilized for centuries in various cultures for their healing properties.

As a result, many individuals seek out such remedies as a natural alternative to conventional allopathic medications.

These three herbal remedies are often highlighted in discussions around natural alternatives for joint health.

Understanding how herbal medicines work can lead to better outcomes for patients.

So, in this guide, we will learn about the benefits of three herbal remedies:

    • Boswellia Serrata,
    • Rosehip Extract, and
    • Devil’s Claw extract

All of these are known for their potential in promoting overall health, mostly joint health.

    Why try these alternative medicines?

Many patients have found success with herbal remedies in managing chronic pain and enhancing their quality of life.

Research has shown that some herbal remedies can significantly reduce symptoms of chronic conditions.

Many of my patients have reported positive outcomes when using these extracts alongside traditional treatments.”

Learning about the natural properties of these herbs can be a great way to support your joint health and overall well-being.

Using these herbal alternatives into your routine may provide you with a natural and effective way to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle, by reducing joint inflammation and pain.”

Now, the questions which all my patients ask me when I prescribe these herbal remedies-

    1. Do these herbal products work?
    2. Do they cure or reverse joint disease?

So, let’s learn the answers to these questions and much more- you will get the answers as you read on……

In this article I will focus on the benefits of these 3 herbal extracts in short and also provide you with links to individual products in a seperate article so that you can read them seperately.

Introduction to Herbal Remedies and Natural Extracts

The increasing interest of these herbal products primarily stems from their perceived advantages, which covers a broad spectrum of positive impacts on the management of conditions like arthritis, asthma, and gastrointestinal disorders.

Unlike synthetic drugs, herbal remedies such as Boswellia Serrata, Rosehip extract, and Devil’s Claw extract have long-standing histories rooted in traditional medicine, where they have been utilized for their natural healing properties. In this context, I would like to mention my own experience with these medicines.

My own experience with these medicines

A few years back I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of both knees; today, I have severe backache to go with it. I have had many allopathic medicines to overcome the pain of both conditions, but the relief has been temporary.

During this treatment, a Medical Rep from Mattox Healthcare Private Limited, provided me with samples of medicines that contained these three compounds- Boswellia Serrata, Rosehip extract and Devil’s Claw extract; in India it is avaiable in tablet form called Rosimat Joint.

Another product that is available in India is a tablet called Synoactiv, produced by Melvin Formulation. It contains Boswellia Serrata and Rosehip Extract along with other joint health improvement ingredients.

I stopped my modern medicine pain killers and muscle relaxants and replaced it with Rosimat. And bingo! The pain in my knees disappeared after one week treatment.

But the backache is still lingering which I am currently treating with Physiotherapy- I have written all about this experience in blog earlier-read here > Physiotherapy for Backache.

So, the point I would like to emphasize here is that Herbal Medicines have their own place in the treatment of chronic conditions like osteoarthritis and one should really give it a try.

The healing and medicinal benefits of such natural extracts are now being validated through rigorous pharmacological research, thus bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and modern medical science.

What makes these herbal extracts so important?

As I said above, I started using these herbal extracts in tablet form as my osteoarthritis was getting worse. I did some research as I was taking this treatment and came up with some astonishing information that I am sharing with you today.

Herbal Remedies have the potential to improve everyday health challenges.”

Boswellia Serrata, also known as Indian frankincense, has gained attention for its anti-inflammatory properties. It has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine as shuddh guggul to treat chronic inflammatory conditions since ages.

The best thing about these medicines is that they have very few or no side effects.”

    Conclusion

The rediscovery and subsequent scientific exploration of these natural substances underscore a broader trend towards integrating herbal medicine into modern healthcare system.

As interest in herbal remedies increases, it becomes more important to understand their benefits and uses.

Research continues to unveil the medicinal potentials of Boswellia serrata, rosehip extract, and devil’s claw extract, leading to there is a growing positive vibe about their roles as viable remedial and health improving agents.
