As part of its mission to expand and protect vital health services in the North State, Dignity Health has acquired Hilltop Medical Clinic, securing urgent care access for the Redding community.

Recognizing the vital role this clinic plays in serving the community, Dignity Health is stepping in to ensure continued access to care. Without this transition, the clinic would have been at risk of closure. Effective June 20, 2025, the clinic was transitioned into and renamed Dignity Health Urgent Care. The clinic reopened to the public June 30, 2025.By acquiring Hilltop Medical Clinic, Dignity Health is ensuring that Redding residents maintain a reliable and convenient option for immediate, non-emergency medical needs.

Patients will continue receiving care from the same trusted physicians and advanced practice providers they know from Hilltop Medical Clinic. In addition,  they’ll now benefit from streamlined access to Dignity Health’s comprehensive network, including the upcoming Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center, Mercy Medical Center Redding, Dignity Health Advanced Imaging, and Dignity Health Medical Group – North State—offering a broader continuum of care.

Community members can expect the same high-quality services they’ve come to rely on, including on-site X-ray and laboratory services. The clinic remains at its convenient location at 1093 Hilltop Drive in Redding and now offers extended hours to better serve the community:

    • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We are excited to join the Dignity Health team,” says Michael Jorde, MD, family medicine physician with Dignity Health Urgent Care, and formerly of Hilltop Medical Clinic. “This transition allows us to continue providing the urgent care services our patients depend on, while offering them access to a broader network of specialists and resources. It’s a significant benefit for the Redding community, ensuring they have access to the care they need, when they need it.”

This is more than an acquisition—it’s a promise to the Redding community,” said Lesley Camire, Executive Director, Dignity Health Medical Group – North State. “We’re committed to delivering care that’s accessible, compassionate, and close to home.

Dignity Health Urgent Care provides walk-in and scheduled appointments for a wide range of urgent care needs, including:

    • Eye infections
    • Cuts and minor burns
    • Earaches
    • UTIs
    • Sports physicals
    • Sprains or muscle strains
    • Minor sports injuries
    • And more!

Dignity Health Medical Group – North State, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, is a multi-specialty clinic with eight locations in Redding and Red Bluff.  Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospitals (Mercy Medical Center – Mt. Shasta, Mercy Medical Center – Redding, and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital), we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides high-quality, compassionate care in family medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, and general surgery.
