Bleecker Street and frequent partner LD Entertainment have picked up U.S. rights to Bone Lake, a critically acclaimed survival thriller from filmmaker Mercedes Bryce Morgan (Fixation), which is coming off its premiere at Fantastic Fest with a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film will be released in theaters nationwide on October 10th. Mister Snith has come on board to rep international rights, beginning at Cannes, following its work with LD on Directors’ Fortnight title Dangerous Animals.
Bone Lake finds a couple’s romantic vacation at a secluded lakeside estate upended when they are forced to share the mansion with a mysterious and attractive couple. A dream getaway spirals into a nightmarish maze of sex, lies, and manipulation, bringing terrifying secrets to light and triggering a bloody battle for survival.
Marco Pigossi (Gen V), Maddie Hasson (Elevation), Alex Roe (The 5th Wave), and Andra Nechita (Matlock) star.
The film comes following Bleecker-LD collaborations including I.S.S., Teen Spirit, Megan Leavey, and Anthropoid — the deal, marking Bleecker’s continued expansion into the genre space.
Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, and Jacob Yakob produced for LD Entertainment, along with Joshua Friedlander and Jason Blumenfeld. Executive producers include Mehrdod Heydari and Joseph Yakob for LD Entertainment, as well as Alex Roe.
Bleecker Street recently acquired cult classic This Is Spinal Tap and its sequel, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, with plans to release a newly restored edition of the former on July 5, ahead of the latter’s wide theatrical release on September 12. Recently, the studio also acquired Sundance wildfire drama Rebuilding, starring Josh O’Connor, for release nationwide later this year.
Avy Eschenasy and Miranda King negotiated for Bleecker, with LD’s Michael Glassman and UTA Independent Film Group repping the filmmakers.
