Delhi ] 06th November, 2025: Get the latest buzz on Delhi Crime Season 3 on Netflix! New cast member Huma Qureshi calls her villain role the “darkest” of her career, while lead star Shefali Shah surprisingly reflects on her acclaimed performance as possibly a “fluke”. The new season, focusing on a chilling human trafficking case, premieres on November 13, 2025.

The return of the International Emmy award winning series Delhi Crime for its highly anticipated Season 3 is generating serious buzz in the OTT World, by not just for its compelling new case, a massive human trafficking ring, but for the electrifying comments from its leading ladies stars.

The new season on Netflix sees the return of the formidable Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, “Madam Sir”, who will face off against a chilling new antagonist, Huma Qureshi, in the role of “Badi Didi”. Both actresses have recently opened up about the profound impact of their roles, offering two surprisingly contrasting perspectives on their work in the Delhi Crime Season 3.

Huma Qureshi on Delhi Crime Season 3: “The Darkest, Most Disgusting” Role

Multi Talented actor Huma Qureshi is the major new addition to the acclaimed cast of Delhi Crime Season 3, and her character, the ruthless trafficker “Badi Didi”, is set to be a villain unlike any the series has seen before.

During the trailer launch, Qureshi didn’t mince words, describing her new role as the most challenging and morally dark part of her career. “This is the darkest, most disgusting character of my career. This is the worst villain character I’ve ever played, she stated, adding a wry, self aware joke that “evil suits me”.

“The Best Worst” Role: Huma Qureshi explained on the internal conflict she faced, explaining that her character, despite being vile, has a certain agency, albeit a negative one. She ultimately praised the role, calling it the “best worst” role she’s ever done.

The Joker Analogy: To articulate her excitement for playing an antagonist in such a popular series, Qureshi used a powerful analogy: “Now you tell two actors to play Batman and Joker, so who will say “I don’t want to play Batman” and which actor wouldn’t want to play Joker?

Highlighting the Issue: The actor expressed hope that playing such a prominent negative character in a show that mirrors societal issues will help bring more awareness to the horrific reality of human trafficking, which is the central theme of this season.

Her performance as “Badi Didi”, the elusive architect of a multi-city criminal empire, promises a high-stakes psychological battle with Shefali Shah’s “Madam Sir”, role by setting the stage for one of the most intense seasons yet.

    Shefali Shah’s Fluke Performance Comment

While a new face steps into the darkness, the show’s stalwart, Shefali Shah, who has garnered international acclaim, including an International Emmy, for her portrayal of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, has offered an unexpected revelation about her process.

Despite the near universal praise for her nuanced, powerful performance across the previous seasons, Shah admitted to battling a surprising degree of Impostor syndrome, even describing her highly successful run in the series as a “fluke performance”.

The Impostor Syndrome: In a candid interview, the veteran actress revealed, “Every time, I feel this is a fluke. It’s like an impostor syndrome”. She admitted to being “terrified” before every performance, stressing that the fear and self-doubt are what drive her to constantly bring her A – game.

No Instruction Manual: Shah’s comment underscores her dedication to raw, organic acting. She clarified that her terror is rooted in her need to avoid a rigid “instruction manual” for her character. “The day I feel I know it, I should go home”, she said, implying that the continuous challenge is essential to her art.

Returning to Vartika: Her commitment ensures that her return as “Madam Sir” will be as authentic and emotionally charged as ever as she tackles a case that takes her and her team—including Rasika Dugal and Rajesh Tailang, beyond Delhi’s borders.

This intriguing contrast, Qureshi’s bold step into her “worst” role versus Shah’s humble assessment of her “fluke” performance, sets the dramatic and thematic tone for Delhi Crime Season 3. The season is confirmed to tackle the complex, widespread issue of human trafficking, a case that will push the Delhi Police to their moral and jurisdictional limits.

With the trailer showcasing a gripping and visually dark narrative, and the two powerhouse actresses facing off, Delhi Crime Season 3 is positioned as a must – watch series, for crime and action ott lovers, and promising to uphold its legacy as a show that holds a stark mirror to society.

So, don’t forget to watch, Delhi Crime Season 3 premieres exclusively on Netflix on November 13, 2025.
