Keith Hearle, a healthcare finance consultant tapped by the IRS to help implement the tax provisions of the ACA, was in the room for formative early conversations about the new tax return forms. The reforms enacted under the ACA helped increase the level of public disclosure, he said, but did not go far enough in asking nonprofit hospitals to explain their charity care spending.”More transparency is better than less transparency,” Hearle said. “The hospitals shouldn’t be embarrassed about shedding light on these policies and how they’re carried out,” he said. But experts say the IRS should be doing more with the newly-reported…
Snap said on Tuesday it will not issue a formal second-quarter financial forecast citing economic uncertainty, as U.S. tariffs threaten to disrupt the global economy and digital advertising budgets, sending its shares down 9 per cent in extended trading. The Snapchat parent faced challenges at the start of the current quarter, even as it continued to diversify both its advertiser base with small- and medium-sized businesses and its revenue sources with the growth of its subscription service.Economic uncertainty could trigger an ad spending shift to bigger rivals such as Facebook and Instagram owner Meta due to their massive user base, some…

Washington — Forty-five days into a U.S. air campaign against Iranian-backed Houthis, American forces have hit more than 1,000 targets in Yemen. Yet, despite promises from Trump administration officials to run “the most transparent Defense Department in history,” the Pentagon has held just one formal briefing in the first 100 days of President Trump’s second term. “In line with the secretary’s vision to make this the most transparent Department of Defense in history, I gave you my personal commitment to make these briefings more routine,” said top Pentagon public affairs aide Sean Parnell on March 17, during the only formal briefing…
In the last week, President Trump has made a number of inaccurate claims that the prices of everyday items like gas and groceries have fallen since he took office — even as Americans are starting to face surcharges for some items as a result of his tariff hikes. While Mr. Trump touts his economic record in interviews with the press, he has claimed without evidence that consumers are seeing record low prices at their gas pumps and exaggerated the decline in crude oil prices since he took office. The president has also falsely stated that he has overseen a drop…

Critics may have complained of superhero fatigue, but after several summers of depleted offerings, it’s clear that they’re a vital part of the mix.Superheroes…
