Airbus Helicopters has launched HTeaming, its modular crewed-uncrewed teaming system designed to enable helicopter crews to control uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) during flight.
HTeaming can either operate independently or be integrated with helicopter mission systems.
Airbus Helicopters will demonstrate the standalone version at the Paris Air Show, which will be held between 16 and 20 June 2025.
The system includes a tablet for human-machine interface, software for UAS management, a modem, and four antennas for helicopter installation.
The design facilitates operation by conventional helicopter crews without significantly increasing their workload.
As a scalable solution, HTeaming will evolve with the addition of new capabilities in future developments, notes the company.
Airbus Helicopters head of UAS Victor Gerin Roze said: “Building on our experience as both a helicopter and UAS manufacturer and our extensive know-how as system integrators, we are offering a system that is both modular and agnostic.”
“HTeaming is a solution that has been developed to be easily integrated on any type of helicopter and to take control of any type of UAS, it will be available for helicopter operators from 2026.
“We believe that UAS are force multipliers for helicopters. Using the sensors and effectors of uncrewed systems, rotorcraft crews will be able to conduct their missions more efficiently and in a safer way,” Roze added.
The system has undergone flight testing, including a trial in May 2025 with a Spanish Navy H135 helicopter and an Airbus Flexrotor UAS.
Airbus Helicopters plans further flight trials with various platforms in the months ahead.
Airbus Helicopters has been developing crewed-uncrewed teaming capabilities over recent years.
The group said multiple flight tests with H135, H145, and H130 helicopters and various UAS have achieved high interoperability levels, leading to the HTeaming launch.
Alongside the standalone solution, integrated solutions will be gradually introduced across Airbus Helicopters’ product range, said the company.
In a separate development, the Spanish Navy recently received two NH90 tactical transport helicopters from Airbus Helicopters.
These aircraft are part of a seven-helicopter order under Spain’s NH90 programme, which includes 23 aircraft.
