Kano, Nigeria – In a bold move to tackle the pressing issue of clean water access, LG Electronics has unveiled a solar-powered borehole for the Kawaji Saunar MamaU community in Nassarawa Local Government, Kano State, Nigeria. This initiative is part of LG’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which is dedicated to fostering sustainable development and elevating the quality of life for underserved communities.

Residents in various rural areas of Kano have long faced the daunting challenge of obtaining potable water, often trekking for miles to unreliable sources. The introduction of this solar-powered borehole is set to be a game-changer, offering a dependable and sustainable water supply right within their reach.

The commissioning ceremony drew LG representatives, local leaders, and community members, all united in celebrating this vital project. The event highlighted the significance of clean water access and showcased how corporate partnerships can effectively address urgent community needs.

What makes this borehole particularly remarkable is its innovative use of solar energy. Unlike traditional systems that depend on electricity or manual pumping, this solar-powered borehole harnesses the abundant sunlight in Kano to pump water from underground sources. This not only ensures a reliable supply but also keeps operational costs low.
